Uber acquires Getir's Turkey delivery ops to expand service reach
Uber has announced its acquisition of Getir's delivery operations in Turkey. The deal strengthens the company's presence in the country and expands its service range. Customers will soon see more options through both Getir and Trendyol Go apps.
The acquisition brings Getir's food, grocery, retail, and water delivery services under Uber's portfolio. It also complements Trendyol Go, another Turkish delivery platform already owned by Uber. By merging the two services, the company aims to broaden product choices for users.
Uber is working with Mubadala Investment Company to finalise the purchase. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi confirmed the move as part of a long-term commitment to Turkey. The partnership is expected to create additional courier jobs and boost demand for local restaurants and shops.
The deal will let customers order from both Getir and Trendyol Go through their existing apps. More delivery opportunities for couriers are also on the horizon. Uber's expanded services aim to support Turkey's growing e-commerce and logistics sectors.
