Russian Retail Week to Tackle Seafood Market Growth and Fish Consumption

The All-Russian Association of Fish Producers, Enterprises, and Exporters (VARPE) will host a key session during Russian Retail Week. Titled 'From Glavrybvod to Market Diversity', the event takes place on 22 June 2023. Its goal is to boost Russia’s domestic seafood market and encourage higher fish consumption across the country. VARPE’s session aims to explore ways to unlock the potential of fish products and increase sales. In 2022, Russian retail chains sold over 450 billion rubles worth of fish products, excluding online transactions. This figure highlights the market’s existing scale and the opportunity for further growth.

The discussion will feature industry leaders as speakers, including Stanislav Aksyonov, Sergey Belyakov, Dmitry Klyunev, Yekaterina Nogai, Natalya Seluyanova, Aleksandra Sukhareva, Sergey Tsurkan, and Anatoly Khitrov. German Zverev, VARPE president and a globally recognised figure in the fishing industry, will moderate the session. Representatives from wholesale and retail sectors will also join the conversation. The forum seeks to drive progress in Russia’s seafood sector. By bringing together experts and stakeholders, it aims to shape strategies for expanding the market. The event underlines the importance of collaboration between producers, exporters, and retailers.
