Hippos ATG Oy names leadership team ahead of 2027 Finland launch

Hippos ATG Oy has announced several key appointments as it prepares to launch in Finland in 2027. The new company, a joint venture between Suomen Hippos and ATG, will be based in Helsinki and aims to introduce the ATG brand to the Finnish market. In June, Mikael Bäcke was named the company’s CEO. Two months later, in August, Antti Koivula took on the role of Chief Compliance Officer. Joonas Saha also joined as Chief Commercial Officer at the same time.

Jussi Nurmi was appointed COO, bringing over a decade of iGaming experience to the role. His background includes more than six years at Betsson. Nurmi expressed enthusiasm about helping build a competitive and responsible gaming company in Finland.

The Board of Directors features Hans Lord Skarplöth as Chair, alongside Markus Lahtinen, Minna Mäenpää, Juha-Matti Mäkilä, and other members. Hippos ATG Oy will operate from Helsinki and plans to bring the ATG brand to Finland by 2027. The company’s leadership team is now in place, with experienced professionals leading its commercial, compliance, and operational divisions.
