Kazakhstan delivers 318 tons of aid and medical teams to Afghanistan

Kazakhstan has sent 318.8 metric tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The shipment includes essential medications, medical supplies, sugar, tents, and bedding. This effort follows instructions from the country’s leadership to support the Afghan people. The aid delivery was organised by KazAID, Kazakhstan’s international development agency, working alongside several government ministries. It forms part of the country’s ongoing commitment to assist Afghanistan, where roughly 30 million people currently need humanitarian help according to UN figures.

A team of nine Kazakhstani doctors has also been deployed to Afghanistan. They will provide medical consultations, hands-on treatment, and training workshops for local healthcare workers.

Kazakhstan considers Afghanistan a priority partner in South and Central Asia. The UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan, based in Almaty, is expected to play a key role. It will coordinate international and regional cooperation and may become a platform for long-term development strategies for Afghanistan. The humanitarian shipment and medical team aim to address urgent needs in Afghanistan. Kazakhstan’s support aligns with its broader policy of aiding the Afghan population. The UN centre in Almaty could further strengthen regional efforts for sustainable development.
