Kazakhstan's President Calls on Entrepreneurs to Revitalize Rural Communities
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has urged successful entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan to invest in rural development. He made the call during a discussion on the 'Aul – El Besigi' initiative, which has directed over 700 billion tenge into rural infrastructure since 2019. The initiative aims to improve rural settlements and attract professionals to villages. Tokayev stressed that the prosperity of rural communities depends on the growth of the agro-industrial sector. He also highlighted the need for digitalising agriculture to modernise the industry.
The president demanded that land allocation data be made publicly available. He instructed local governors to assist agricultural cooperatives and joint-stock companies in marketing their products. Tokayev added that contributions from entrepreneurs would boost the prosperity of their home regions.
The government plans to create conditions that encourage meaningful efforts in rural development. Tokayev promised rewards for those who demonstrate patriotism through their contributions. The 'Aul – El Besigi' initiative continues to drive rural infrastructure projects across Kazakhstan. With increased investment and digitalisation, the government aims to strengthen agricultural communities. Public access to land data and support for local producers are key steps in this process.
