Thomas Carroll's CEO shortlisted for Employee Owner of the Year award

Thomas Carroll Group is celebrating its second year as an employee ownership trust (EOT). The company has also seen its CEO, Rhys Thomas, shortlisted for a major industry award. His leadership in the transition to employee ownership has drawn recognition. Rhys Thomas guided Thomas Carroll through its shift to an EOT. He believes the move was key to the company’s recent growth. In its first full year under the new model, turnover rose by 7.1%.

The UK Employee Ownership Awards, run by the Employee Ownership Association (eoa), has now shortlisted him for Employee Owner of the Year. Judges include past winners and eoa CEO James de le Vigne. The awards ceremony will take place at the eoa’s annual conference in late November.

Gareth Cotty, the group’s Chief Commercial Officer, has spoken of his pride in Rhys’ achievement. The nomination highlights the impact of the EOT on the company’s performance and culture. The shortlisting comes as Thomas Carroll marks two years under employee ownership. The firm’s financial growth and leadership have earned industry attention. The final decision will be announced at the eoa’s November event.
