Vietnam's PM calls on young entrepreneurs to drive innovation and growth
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has praised Vietnam’s young entrepreneurs for their contributions to national development. He urged them to embrace bold thinking, ambition, and national pride while fostering vision and unity. His remarks came during a congress that highlighted the growing impact of young business leaders across the country. The congress outlined six key goals for the next term. These include leading the creation of new growth drivers through science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The Prime Minister also called for stronger strategic focus on science, green transition, and digital advancements to boost productivity and workforce quality.
He directed agencies and sectors to adopt open policies, seamless infrastructure, and smart management. Removing bottlenecks and cutting compliance costs for citizens and businesses was emphasised as a priority. The Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association was tasked with six pioneering initiatives, such as nurturing patriotic and ambitious entrepreneurs and promoting startups and innovation.
The Prime Minister also urged support from the Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, and other organisations. He acknowledged the positive ripple effect created by young entrepreneurs, which has benefited the wider business community. Vietnam currently has over one million active enterprises, 14,400 cooperatives, and five million business households, contributing over 60% of GDP and employing 15.6 million people. Many Vietnamese businesses have built strong regional and global brand recognition. This has helped elevate Vietnam’s standing on the world stage. The Prime Minister’s call to action aims to sustain and expand this momentum in the coming years.
