Wynwood Dog Food Co. Expands with High-Tech Miami Facility by 2027
Wynwood Dog Food Co. plans to open a new production facility in Miami’s Allapattah neighbourhood in early 2027. The company, founded in 2015 by Michael O’Rourke and his family, specialises in fresh and prescription dog food created by nutritionists and veterinarians. The new 13,000-square-foot space will replace the current 3,000-square-foot facility. It will support the production of Wynwood’s FRESH RX prescription diets and its Complete & Balanced meals. The site aims to increase annual fresh food production to US$30 million.
A viewing area will allow customers and veterinarians to observe the production process. A live feed of the area will also be available on the company’s website. The expansion is expected to create more jobs beyond the existing 40-person team.
CEO Michael O’Rourke noted that pet owners increasingly seek higher-quality, less processed prescription food for their dogs. Wynwood’s recipes meet AAFCO and NIH standards, ensuring quality and safety. The new facility will expand Wynwood’s production capacity significantly. It will also enhance transparency by letting customers see how their pet’s food is made. The company continues to focus on high-quality, vet-approved dog food.
