Government unveils bold reforms to boost jobs and social support by 2026
The government has outlined major steps to strengthen social support and employment. A new digital system for disability assessments is set to launch by the end of the year. The head of state has also called for better social services and the opening of seven rehabilitation centres. During a recent review, the head of state examined the ministry’s work over the past year and the first five months of 2026. Askarbek Yertaev confirmed that all social obligations are being fully met. This year, 5.9 trillion tenge was earmarked for pensions and benefits, with 2.7 trillion tenge already spent in the first five months of 2026.
Employment efforts have seen progress across the country. Around 201,000 citizens have found jobs so far, including 74,900 young people. Nearly 12,000 citizens with disabilities have also secured employment. The goal for 2026 remains ambitious: creating 3.1 million permanent jobs with fair wages, social contributions, and safe working conditions.
As part of wider digital reforms, a pilot 'Digital Employment Service' will start in Mangistau and Pavlodar regions. This initiative uses AI to improve job-matching processes. The planned digital system for disability assessments will modernise support services. The government aims to expand employment opportunities while ensuring social payments remain on track. These measures are designed to strengthen economic stability for citizens across the country.
