Benin's National Lottery Welcomes New Director General Marius Adanzounon
The National Lottery of Benin (LNB SA) has a new director general. Marius Adanzounon took office on 16 June 2023, succeeding Gaston Zossou after a decade of leadership. The change marks a new phase for the organisation’s growth and modernisation. Gaston Zossou led LNB SA for ten years, overseeing significant structural reforms. Under his guidance, the lottery was listed on the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM). Sarah Kpénou, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, publicly commended these achievements.
Marius Adanzounon now steps into the role with clear goals. He aims to expand LNB SA’s contribution to Benin’s socio-economic development. His plans include accelerating digitalisation and updating management tools to improve operational and financial performance. He has also pledged to continue the modernisation programme started by his predecessor.
In his first address to staff, Adanzounon urged employees to uphold the collective spirit that has driven the organisation’s success. He emphasised building on the progress already made under Zossou’s leadership. The new director general has set out a focused agenda for LNB SA. His priorities include strengthening performance, advancing digitalisation, and enhancing the lottery’s impact on Benin’s economy. The transition follows a period of notable growth and reform for the organisation.
