Educator-turned-CEO reshapes India's hospitality with cultural innovation

Keyurkumar Birsensingh Jurel, an educator-turned-entrepreneur, has been recognised for his contributions to India’s hospitality sector. He received the honour at the HT Media Presents Crafting Bharat Business Conclave & Awards 2026. His work highlights innovation, cultural integration, and purpose-driven leadership in the industry. Jurel is the Founder and CEO of Shivashraya Hotels and Hospitality Ventures Private Limited. His company aims to establish itself as a pan-India hospitality brand under his guidance. The flagship brand, Bilwapatra, blends modern comfort with traditional Indian cultural heritage.

Before entering hospitality, he built a career in brand building and business consulting. He holds B.A., M.A., and B.Ed. degrees and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. His leadership philosophy draws from the Bhagavad Gita principle of 'Nishkama Karma', emphasising selfless action.
