Magadan boosts 2026 healthcare budget despite projected deficit
The Magadan Regional Duma has approved a higher budget for the Magadan Regional Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund in 2026. The decision aims to strengthen financial stability and enhance medical services for local residents. The Fund’s revenue has risen by 21.5 million rubles, bringing the total to 11.3 billion rubles. At the same time, expenditures have increased by 544 million rubles, reaching 11.8 billion rubles. A deficit of 522.6 million rubles is expected, which will be covered using unused funds from 2025.
The normalized insurance reserve has also grown by 59.2 million rubles. This increase ensures the budget remains secure and manageable. The extra funds will help stabilise financing for medical institutions and improve access to diagnostics and treatment for residents, including those outside the region. The budget adjustments are designed to secure stable funding for healthcare providers. They will also support better medical care and the well-being of people in Kolyma. The changes reflect a commitment to addressing financial gaps while maintaining service quality.
