Ecommpay Launches Express Checkout for Apple Pay and Google Pay

Ecommpay has introduced Express Checkout options for Apple Pay and Google Pay. The new feature allows merchants to offer faster payment initiation within their own checkout flow. Customers can now complete purchases with fewer steps, reducing the need for manual form-filling or redirects. The update enables eligible customers to see Apple Pay and Google Pay buttons as payment options during checkout. This streamlines the process, particularly for guest users who previously had to enter details manually. Currently, 59% of orders come from such guest customers.

Express Checkout also gives merchants the flexibility to present these payment options earlier in the customer journey. This can occur outside the standard Hosted Payment Page flow, improving convenience. Artur Zaremba, Head of Internal Payment Solutions Product Stream at Ecommpay, highlighted the advantages of this approach.

Data shows that single-page checkouts, which benefit from such optimisations, achieve a higher average conversion rate. They reach 61%, compared to 56% for multi-page checkouts. The new Express Checkout feature aims to simplify payments for both merchants and customers. Faster transactions and reduced friction are expected to improve conversion rates. Merchants can now integrate these options directly into their checkout experience.
