Rhone, a direct-to-consumer activewear brand, has appointed Matthew Wallace as its new chief operating officer. The move comes as the company looks to expand its product range and brand reach. Wallace will take on key responsibilities in finance, operations, and technology. Matthew Wallace brings extensive experience to his new role. He previously co-founded and led DXM Inc. as its CEO. Before that, he held operational and supply chain positions at PVH Corp., Walmart, and Cerberus Capital.
At Rhone, he will report directly to CEO and co-founder Nate Checketts. His responsibilities will include overseeing finance, people, supply chain, operations, and technology. The appointment aligns with Rhone’s plans to grow its brand presence.
The company has already diversified its offerings. In addition to its core activewear, Rhone now sells accessories like caps, underwear, socks, water bottles, backpacks, and duffels. A women’s active-inspired apparel line is set to launch in 2024.
Rhone has also strengthened its partnerships and leadership. It has collaborated with the NBA and signed athletes Kevin Love and Jrue Holiday as brand ambassadors. Recently, ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro and former Athleta marketing head Tess Roering joined its board of directors. With Matthew Wallace as COO, Rhone aims to scale its operations and expand its market position. His leadership will support the brand’s growing product portfolio and strategic partnerships. The company continues to build on its foundation in the activewear industry.
