Lederhaus Opens Fifth Leather Goods Store in Bingen's Historic Fruchtmarkt

A new leather goods store, Lederhaus, has opened in Bingen at Fruchtmarkt 11. Owner Shamshad Ahmad launched the shop on November 6. The location sits at the entrance to the city, aiming to attract both locals and visitors. Shamshad Ahmad initially trained as a lawyer before focusing on the family’s leather business. The business began as a leather bag factory in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Over time, he expanded the family trade, opening multiple stores across Germany.

This is Ahmad’s fifth Lederhaus, joining existing shops in Ribnitz-Damgarten, Cochem, and Rüdesheim. His store in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler closed permanently after severe flood damage in 2021. The Bingen branch now offers a wide selection of leather items, from jackets and coats to bags, hats, and wallets. Custom-made products are also available on request.

Bingen’s Mayor Thomas Feser has welcomed the new addition. He described the store as an asset to the city and a magnet for leather lovers. The Lederhaus in Bingen broadens Ahmad’s retail presence in the region. It provides a new shopping option for leather goods in the city. The store is expected to draw both residents and tourists interested in quality leather products.
