VTB injects 78 billion rubles into economic revival of new regions
VTB has approved credit agreements totalling over 78 billion rubles for projects in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. The bank reports a sharp rise in business activity and financial integration across these areas. The move highlights growing economic momentum in the newly incorporated territories. The new regions have seen rapid business expansion and deeper ties to the national economy. VTB’s active client base among small and medium-sized enterprises has multiplied since the start of the year. Kherson region and the DPR are leading in transaction turnover among these areas.
Payment infrastructure has also grown significantly. The number of installed POS terminals has increased 5.2 times, while transaction volumes through them have risen nearly eightfold. This surge reflects higher commercial activity and broader financial access.
Of the approved funds, 70 billion rubles will support major investment projects. These cover housing construction, agriculture, telecommunications, and retail. The bank states that the rising loan portfolio and client numbers confirm steady economic growth in the regions. The approved credit agreements will fund key sectors and boost local development. A thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem is emerging with strong potential for further expansion. The figures demonstrate increasing financial engagement and business confidence in the new regions.
