Morgan Stanley unveils low-fee Ethereum and Solana ETFs with staking rewards

Morgan Stanley has revealed proposed fees for its planned spot Ethereum and Solana exchange-traded funds. The move follows the firm’s broader push into digital asset products after the launch of its Bitcoin Trust. Both ETFs are now under review by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The proposed Ethereum and Solana ETFs would each carry a 0.14% annual fee. This fee would be calculated daily and paid in cash, with Morgan Stanley Investment Management covering most standard operating costs.

Staking would form part of the ETFs’ structure. Under the plan, 95% of staking rewards would go to investors. The Ethereum ETF’s staking providers include Figment, Galaxy Blockchain Infrastructure, and Coinbase Canada, while BNY Mellon and Coinbase Custody would act as custodians.

The Ethereum product is set to trade on NYSE Arca under the ticker MSSE, with the Solana ETF listed as MSOL. However, the amended filings do not specify a launch date. Both remain subject to SEC review and exchange approval.

The proposals come after the SEC recently approved T. Rowe Price’s multi-asset crypto ETF, which can hold up to 15 digital assets. The filings mark another step in Morgan Stanley’s digital asset strategy. The ETFs would offer exposure to Ethereum and Solana with staking rewards and a competitive fee structure. Their launch depends on regulatory and exchange approvals.
