Yakutsk's business leaders unite to tackle labor shortages and workplace culture

A roundtable discussion titled 'In the Spotlight: Business' took place in Yakutsk as part of the 'Focus on Business' series. The entrepreneur-led event tackled current business challenges in the region. Over 100 participants attended, with a live broadcast reaching districts across Yakutia. The event featured contributions from several business leaders and professionals. Marianna Andreyeva proposed solutions to address labour shortages in Yakutia’s tourism industry, including expanded short-term training programs, wage subsidies, and preferential mortgages.

Other speakers shared their perspectives on workplace culture and employee retention. Svetlana Yakoleva credited her team’s success to a culture of kindness and genuine care in the medical field. Alena Shkulepo stressed that respect in workplace relationships matters more than salary. Irina Matveyeva advocated for motivating employees through professional and personal growth to retain talent.

Timur Dyachkovsky discussed the children’s entertainment business and found the event valuable for his work. Georgiy Karamzin explained his approach of delegating responsibilities to develop employee skills and support business expansion. The 'My Business' Centre, part of the national SME project, provided free services to Yakutia’s business community during the event. The roundtable brought together diverse voices to address key business issues. Ideas ranged from policy changes to workplace culture and employee development. The discussions aimed to provide practical insights for local entrepreneurs and business leaders.
