Omsk's Lake Santankul to become a glamping and fishing paradise by 2026

A new eco-tourism project is set to transform Lake Santankul in Omsk’s Sargatsky District. Plans include a recreational base with glamping, local food, and fishing. The initiative is part of broader efforts to develop sustainable tourism in the region. The proposed resort will sit on a 1-hectare municipally owned plot zoned for residential and hotel use. Guests can expect glamping tents, traditional meals, a sauna, and paid fishing in the lake. Lake Santankul is known for silver crucian carp, with perch and stone moroko also present.

The project carries an estimated cost of 50 million rubles, or about $550,000. Work is expected to take 24 months to complete. Investors may acquire the land through lease or purchase.

Sargatsky District offers rich natural resources, including lakes with sapropel deposits and Gammarus crustaceans. Other eco-tourism plans in Omsk Region involve a collective farm market and a boutique hotel. The development aims to attract visitors with nature-based activities and local experiences. It will add to the region’s growing list of sustainable tourism ventures. Completion is projected within two years, depending on funding and approvals.
