dLocal's BNPL Fuse Expands Globally to Simplify Cross-Border Payments
dLocal has expanded its Buy Now Pay Later infrastructure, BNPL Fuse, to global merchants across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The platform now serves seven countries, with plans to add Colombia, Chile, and the UAE soon. It aims to simplify payments for businesses and shoppers alike. BNPL Fuse streamlines the process for merchants by removing the need for separate contracts, integrations, and compliance checks with each provider. It offers fixed-term instalment financing with transparent repayment schedules to protect both consumers and sellers. The system also includes active intelligence for eligibility checks, data enrichment, and checkout optimisation, which can boost merchant conversion rates by up to 144%.
The platform has grown rapidly, processing USD$18.9 million in March 2026 after a year of roughly 20% month-on-month expansion. It now supports providers like Didi in Mexico and Addi in Colombia, with Aplazo and Venti set to join. Additional features include centralised refund management and tools to unlock subscription revenue.
In South Africa, BNPL transactions are significantly larger than card payments, with ticket sizes 60-330% higher across different product categories. BNPL Fuse now covers Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Egypt, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia. Its growth and added capabilities aim to make cross-border payments smoother for merchants and buyers. The service continues to expand its reach and functionality in emerging markets.
