Genesys Launches HD Maps to Revolutionize India's Road Safety with ADAS Precision

Genesys International Corporation has rolled out high-definition (HD) maps for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in vehicles. The new mapping stack covers over 1 lakh kilometres of national highways, expressways, and major corridors. These maps aim to improve road safety and support India’s growing mobility needs with centimetre-level precision. The HD maps provide detailed data on lane geometry, road markings, barriers, signage, slopes, and curves. Unlike standard navigation tools, they enhance ADAS functions by offering information beyond what vehicle sensors alone can detect. Features like medians, elevation profiles, and localisation markers are included, with licensing available for fleet navigation, logistics, and analytics.

Genesys developed the maps using real-time GNSS corrections from the Survey of India’s Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) network. This ensures high accuracy, aligning with national geospatial infrastructure goals. Hitesh Makwana, Surveyor General of India, highlighted how leveraging CORS for HD mapping supports broader national development.

The initiative also targets road safety, addressing India’s high highway fatality rates caused by speeding, poor lane discipline, and limited visibility. Sajid Malik, Chairman and Managing Director of Genesys, noted that the project integrates mapping with India’s mobility requirements. It prepares for wider ADAS adoption while contributing to safer transport globally.

Genesys owns the underlying datasets, aiming to boost growth in the geospatial sector. The effort aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission by strengthening local geospatial capabilities. This positions the company as a key player in transport and digital infrastructure development. The expanded HD map stack now spans critical road networks, offering precise data for ADAS applications. By improving navigation accuracy and safety features, the project supports both industry innovation and national self-reliance. Genesys plans to further develop its role in geospatial technology and smart mobility solutions.
