Amagi Unveils Cutting-Edge Cloud Broadcasting Tech at IBC 2024

Amagi is set to unveil its newest broadcasting and streaming technologies at IBC 2024 in Amsterdam. The company will highlight innovations in live production, cloud migration, and server-side advertising. Visitors can explore these solutions at Stand 5.B87.

At the event, Amagi will demonstrate its Amagi THUNDERSTORM platform, designed to enhance server-side TV advertising. The system aims to streamline ad insertion while maintaining broadcast quality. Another key feature will be the integration of Amagi Tellyo PRO with Amagi CLOUDPORT, enabling users to log in seamlessly and manage content in real time.

The company will also launch the Disaster Recovery DR Box, an on-premises playout server for Amagi CLOUDPORT. This solution ensures uninterrupted broadcasting even during technical failures. A live operations centre at the stand will showcase the full glass-to-glass workflow, from content ingestion to final delivery.

Amagi's cloud-native tools, including CLOUDPORT, Tellyo STUDIO, and Tellyo PRO, will be on display to automate and simplify broadcast workflows. These platforms serve major clients like A+E Networks UK, NBCUniversal, and DAZN, offering channel creation, distribution, and monetisation in one package.

While Amagi focuses on cloud-based SaaS solutions, competitors like Riedel Communications and Grass Valley will present alternative approaches. Riedel's Simplylive Production Suite and MediorNet IP-Plattform emphasise low-latency IP infrastructure with hardware integration. Grass Valley, meanwhile, will showcase software-defined production via MXL, targeting cost-efficient, multi-vendor workflows. Promwad will demo its OneClick Streamer app, catering to mobile and edge streaming needs.

Amagi's latest offerings aim to provide broadcasters with more reliable, automated, and scalable icloud solutions. The company's presence at IBC 2024 reinforces its position in cloud-based playout and monetisation. Attendees can experience the full range of tools at Stand 5.B87.
