A children’s woodworking studio has won Yakutia’s Dad the Entrepreneur competition. Vladimir Vinokurov from Yakutsk took first place with his Olonkho ARTyk: Heroes project. The initiative aims to boost business skills as part of Russia’s national economic development plan. The Dad the Entrepreneur program helps citizens build practical business expertise. Participants attended workshops and met with established entrepreneurs, including Sergei Bykov, Alexei Vasilyev, and Gavril Vinokurov. These sessions provided real-world insights and hands-on advice for tackling common challenges.
Vinokurov’s winning project focuses on a creative woodworking studio for children. His business plan impressed judges, earning praise from Bykov for its quality and innovation. The competition was organised by the My Business Center, with support from Corporation No. 1, Urdel Adventure Park, and Sberbank of Russia. As the winner, Vinokurov received a 1.5 million ruble ($16,500) grant to launch his venture. He thanked the organisers for their guidance, calling the programme a valuable opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The grant will help Vinokurov turn his woodworking studio into a reality. The competition highlights efforts to strengthen local businesses through training and funding. Organisers plan to continue supporting similar initiatives under Russia’s economic development strategy.
