Yakutia's New Council Empowers Young Entrepreneurs to Drive Innovation

The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has launched a new Council of Young Entrepreneurs to support youth-led businesses. The Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Tourism organised the first meeting, marking the start of a structured effort to boost innovation in the region. A competitive selection process determined the council’s members and leaders. A total of 74 entrepreneurs competed for 14 available seats on the council. The selection highlighted strong interest in shaping policies for small and medium-sized enterprises, trade, and tourism.

Georgy Andreyev was chosen to lead the newly formed council. Yegor Rastorguev took on the role of deputy chairman, supporting Andreyev in guiding the group’s initiatives. The council’s main tasks include developing pilot projects and proposing changes to government policies. Its goals also cover generating fresh business ideas, creating support systems for young entrepreneurs, and tackling the challenges they face. Members will work closely with the ministry to turn these plans into action.

The council now moves forward with a clear focus on improving conditions for young entrepreneurs in Yakutia. Its work will centre on practical solutions, from policy adjustments to direct support for startups. The ministry’s backing ensures that the group’s proposals will receive official attention.
