WEX and Extend bring virtual cards to SAP Concur for seamless payments

WEX has teamed up with Extend to bring virtual card payments directly into SAP Concur solutions. The new integration allows businesses to generate secure, single-use cards without leaving the Concur Invoice platform. This move aims to simplify accounts payable processes and reduce manual work for companies. The partnership connects WEX corporate card accounts with Concur Invoice, enabling automatic virtual card creation when invoices arrive. Each card comes with predefined controls, including spend limits, expiry dates, and invoice references. These features help firms manage payments more efficiently while cutting down on fraud risks.

The system also speeds up supplier payments and improves cash flow visibility. By using tokenised, single-use credentials, businesses reduce exposure to fraud compared to traditional payment methods. Extend’s infrastructure links card networks, banks, and business applications, making it easier for WEX to add these capabilities without complex technical changes.

WEX has emphasised its focus on turning accounts payable into a strategic tool for working capital. The integration supports faster reconciliation, automated authorisation, and secure payment execution—all within Concur Invoice. Companies can also capture card rebates that might otherwise be missed. The collaboration between WEX and Extend embeds virtual cards into SAP Concur’s AP workflow. Firms now have more control over transactions while reducing manual processes. The solution is designed to make invoice settlement quicker, more secure, and better aligned with modern financial operations.
