Webull expands IRA investing with mutual funds

Webull adds mutual funds to IRA accounts for diversified retirement investing

Webull has broadened its retirement investment options by introducing mutual funds for IRA accounts. The move allows eligible investors to access no-load mutual funds directly through the platform. Initially, the feature is being tested with a small group of U.S. customers before a wider rollout.

The new offering lets IRA holders invest in mutual funds without leaving the Webull app. The initial selection includes no-load funds, with plans to add more options over time. Lindsay Ryan, Webull’s Head of U.S. Products, noted that this expansion helps investors diversify their portfolios and manage retirement savings in one place.

The launch follows a growing trend among digital platforms to move beyond self-directed trading. Many providers are now adding wealth management and retirement-focused tools to meet changing investor demands. Webull also plans to support ACAT transfers for mutual fund holdings in a future update, making it easier to move assets between brokerages. Mutual funds remain a favoured choice for long-term investors due to their diversification and professional management. Webull’s gradual expansion of available funds and CUSIPs aims to strengthen its position in the retirement investment market.

The beta launch is currently limited to select U.S. customers, with full availability for all eligible IRA accounts expected soon. Once fully rolled out, the service will provide investors with more ways to build and manage their retirement portfolios. Future updates will also introduce ACAT transfer support for mutual fund holdings.
