Websol's profits soar 56% as solar expansion fuels record revenue growth

Websol Energy System has reported robust financial performance in the third quarter of fiscal 2026. The company's revenue surged 77.2% year-over-year to ₹261.02 crore, while net profit climbed 56.3% to ₹65 crore. Despite this growth, its share price recently hit a new 52-week low.

The company's improved results stemmed from higher utilisation of its expanded production lines. One cell line operated at 97% capacity, while a second ran at 54%. This boosted output and efficiency across its solar module and cell divisions, which split revenue at 57% and 43%, respectively.

Websol is now forging ahead with a major expansion in Andhra Pradesh. The new 4-gigawatt facility will require over ₹30 billion in investment. To power the site, the company will also construct a dedicated 100-megawatt solar plant.

Over the past year, Websol's market capitalisation soared by roughly 450%, reaching around ₹4,500 crore. This growth outpaced larger rivals like Adani Green Energy, Tata Power, and Waaree Energies. Strong export demand and production increases drove the rise. However, the stock has since plummeted, dropping from a 52-week high of ₹159.90 to a low of ₹63.24.

The company boasts a solid order book worth ₹1,150 crore, ensuring steady revenue in the near term. Its net debt stands at ₹89 crore, with a stable CRISIL BBB+ credit rating.

Websol's expansion and financial gains underscore its position in India's solar news. The new Andhra Pradesh project and strong order pipeline suggest continued growth. Yet, the recent share price decline contrasts with its operational success.
