Visa has launched a series of new tools to streamline dispute handling for banks, merchants, and cardholders. The updates aim to cut confusion over charges and resolve conflicts before they grow. Six enhanced solutions are now available, with more planned for the coming year. The company processed 106 million disputes worldwide in 2025, a 35% increase since 2019. This rise has pushed Visa to expand its AI-driven tools for issuers and acquirers. One key update, Dispute Intelligence, is now fully operational, using predictive AI to assist with case reviews.
Order Insight has also been refreshed to clarify legitimate charges for cardholders. Another tool, Compelling Evidence 3.0, lets merchants submit proof directly to banks when transactions seem suspicious. Meanwhile, the Visa Dispute Recovery Manager automates dispute responses, using AI to generate replies and predict success rates.
A new system, the Visa Dispute Resolution Network, steps in early to prevent disputes from escalating. For broader workflow management, Visa Dispute Case Manager will launch in North America by 2026. This platform will centralise dispute processes across different card networks. The expanded tools are designed to speed up resolutions and reduce losses for merchants. By automating responses and improving evidence-sharing, Visa expects fewer disputes to reach formal claims. The changes also aim to make the process clearer for all parties involved.
