Tajikistan's foreign investment soars 35% in 2025, hitting $6.93 billion

Tajikistan experienced a significant boost in foreign investment in 2025, with a total of $6.93 billion, marking a 35% increase from the previous year. This surge in investment aligns with the government's initiatives to foster economic ties and create a more investor-friendly environment. The country's investment calculator shows a $1.8 billion increase compared to 2024, with a substantial portion, $3.03 billion (43.8%), originating from CIS nations. The remaining $3.89 billion (56.2%) came from non-CIS countries.

Key sectors driving this growth include hydroelectric power, notably the Rogun Dam project, and aluminum production led by Tajik Aluminum Company. Mining operations expanded, while agriculture, textiles, and transport infrastructure saw increased interest. These projects aim to fortify Tajikistan's role in connecting Central Asian markets and diversify its economy. Major projects in energy, industry, and transport have positioned Tajikistan as an attractive destination for foreign capital, with government policies showing tangible results in economic growth.
