Stonebwoy and His Wife Quietly Grow a Family-Owned Rice Empire in Ghana

Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy and his wife, Dr Louisa Satekla, have quietly built a thriving rice business called LILO Rice. The brand recently gained attention after featuring in care packages donated by Stonebwoy's Livingstone Foundation. These packages supported a talented autistic child and included essentials like bottled water and personal care items.

The couple's venture into agribusiness adds to Stonebwoy's growing portfolio, which spans music, fashion, and philanthropy. LILO Rice takes its name from the first two letters of Stonebwoy's and his wife's names, reflecting its family-centred identity. The brand, which has operated for some time, stepped into the spotlight in 2022 through social media campaigns. Promotional content featured Dr Louisa Satekla and their daughter, reinforcing the company's focus on family values.

The rice is grown and packaged in Ghana, with primary farming regions in Volta, Northern, and Ashanti. Stonebwoy has highlighted its freshness, quality, and traceability, calling it a 'homegrown' product. Currently, the company employs around 500 workers, contributing to local job creation.

Beyond business, Stonebwoy's Livingstone Foundation has used LILO Rice in charitable efforts. The recent donation to an autistic child included packs of the brand's long-grain perfume rice, alongside other necessities. This move aligns with the foundation's broader mission to support vulnerable communities through practical aid. LILO Rice now stands as a visible part of Stonebwoy's expanding influence, blending business with social impact. The brand's inclusion in philanthropic work underscores its role in both commerce and community support. With a growing workforce and increased public recognition, the company continues to strengthen its presence in Ghana's agribusiness sector.
