Stevanato Group scales up drug delivery with German expansion and key partnership
Stevanato Group has expanded its German production site and formed a new partnership to improve large-volume drug delivery. The company added over 2,500 square meters to its Bad Oeynhausen facility, including advanced cleanrooms. At the same time, it teamed up with Datwyler and LTS Device Technologies to develop more comfortable injection systems for patients needing high-dose treatments.
The expansion in Bad Oeynhausen includes ISO Class 8 cleanrooms, designed to speed up new product launches and meet growing demand. This move also boosts Stevanato's ability to scale up both its own products and contract manufacturing. The company's global growth continues, with two additional sites opened or planned since 2023: a facility in Zhangjiagang, China (operational since 2024), and an expansion near Boston, USA (set to open in 2025).
Alongside the facility upgrades, Stevanato has joined forces with Datwyler and LTS Device Technologies. Their collaboration focuses on large-volume injection systems, ranging from 10 to 20 millilitres. Stevanato supplies its EZ-fill® cartridges, Datwyler provides custom plunger stoppers, and LTS integrates its Sorrel™ platform into the new devices. The goal is to simplify self-administration of high-volume biologics, a market expected to hit $483 billion in the U.S. by 2034.
The company will release its fourth-quarter 2025 financial results on March 5. These figures will offer the first detailed look at how the new initiatives—both the facility expansions and the partnership—are performing commercially.
The expanded Bad Oeynhausen site and the new injection systems partnership position Stevanato Group for further growth in drug delivery technology. With additional production hubs in China and the U.S., the company is scaling up to meet demand in the biologics sector. Financial updates in early March will reveal the early impact of these investments on profitability.
