St. Ingbert Charity Run raises €39,000 for Senegal's healthcare upgrades

The 2025 St. Ingbert Charity Run has raised €39,000 for healthcare improvements in Senegal. Organised by the 'Friendship St. Ingbert–N'Diaganiao/Senegal' association, the event saw its highest attendance since the pandemic, with over 1,170 participants.

The 20th edition of the charity run took place at the Gustav-Clauss Sports Complex. More than 1,170 runners and supporters joined, marking the first time since COVID-19 that numbers passed four digits. The funds will go to the Guélor Health Center in N'Diaganiao, Senegal.

During a service at Engelbert Church, Gabi Strobel presented a symbolic check for €39,000. Walter Klicker, chair of the association, accepted it and thanked everyone involved. The money will help build a new residential unit for nursing staff, upgrade the electrical system, and buy essential medical equipment. The next charity run is already planned for September 5–6, 2026.

The donation will directly improve conditions at the Guélor Health Center. New staff housing, better electricity, and updated medical tools are now within reach. Planning for the 2026 event has already begun.
