SpaceX IPO reveals billion-dollar fortunes for Elon Musk's closest allies

SpaceX’s upcoming IPO has revealed the vast wealth tied to its key shareholders. Among them, Elon Musk’s long-time ally Antonio Gracias stands out with a stake potentially worth billions. Other early backers and executives also hold significant shares in the aerospace giant.

Antonio Gracias, one of Musk’s closest advisors, owns over 500 million SpaceX shares. This represents about 7.3% of the company’s Class A shares before the IPO. At a projected valuation of $1.5 trillion, his stake could reach roughly $91.6 billion.

Gracias’ connection to Musk dates back to the early 2000s, rooted in Silicon Valley and PayPal. He has since been a steadfast supporter, particularly during Tesla’s financial struggles. His influence extends beyond SpaceX, having played a key role in Musk’s broader business ventures. Other major shareholders include Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s president and COO, who holds around 12.6 million shares. Valued at the IPO price, her stake is estimated at $2.3 billion. Luke Nosek, another former PayPal colleague of Musk, owns nearly 33 million shares, worth about $6 billion under the same valuation. Venture capitalist Ira Ehrenpreis, known for his position on Tesla’s board, holds roughly 1.37 million SpaceX shares. His stake is projected to be worth around $250 million. Meanwhile, Randy Glein, founder of DFJ Growth, owns about 278,000 shares, valued at approximately $50 million.

The IPO will solidify SpaceX’s position as one of the most valuable private companies to go public. Gracias’ massive stake highlights the financial scale of Musk’s inner circle. For other shareholders, the offering promises to turn long-held investments into extraordinary wealth.
