Southeast Asia's First AI-Powered Micro-Drama Spore Fall Debuts in 2026

A groundbreaking micro-drama series from Southeast Asia is set to launch in mid-2026. Spore Fall will blend human storytelling with AI-powered production, marking a first for the region. The project has now secured backing from Singapore's Silver Media Fund to expand its transmedia reach.

Developed by Singapore-based studio Edenstone, Spore Fall will debut as a 10-episode vertical micro-drama between April and June 2026. The series will roll out across platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and select streaming services. Its themes focus on collective resilience and adaptation, reflecting challenges faced by Southeast Asian communities.

Generative AI is being woven into traditional workflows to speed up content creation without sacrificing depth. Beyond the series, the intellectual property is expanding into novels, games, and Web3 collectibles. A full-length feature film adaptation is also slated for a 2028 theatrical release. The project has drawn attention beyond its home region. By March 2026, India, South Korea, and Nigeria had each launched similar AI-assisted transmedia franchises, blending local narratives with global formats. Silver Media Fund (SMF), managed by One Apex Capital, is now structuring a capital raise to support *Spore Fall*'s growth. The fund specialises in high-potential media tech and IP-driven content businesses.

As Spore Fall prepares for its 2026 premiere, it stands as Southeast Asia's first human-written, AI-enhanced micro-drama franchise. The series will test how regional stories can scale globally through emerging technologies. Its multi-platform release and transmedia plans aim to set a new benchmark for short-form content in the region.
