Sharjah Launches Affordable Dh1,000 Licence to Fuel Start-Up Growth
Sharjah has introduced a new commercial licence to support start-ups and emerging businesses. The Business Establishment licence will cost from Dh1,000 and aims to boost entrepreneurship in the emirate. It will be available exclusively during the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival 2026.
The licence targets start-ups operating in six key sectors: sustainability, creative industries, education technology, advanced manufacturing, health technology, and transport. Companies must meet specific criteria to qualify for registration.
The initiative is designed to lower entry barriers for new businesses and strengthen Sharjah's innovation-driven economy. Officials have positioned it as a way to encourage more entrepreneurs to establish operations in the region.
The Business Establishment licence will launch during the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival, scheduled for January 31 and February 1, 2026. No details have been provided on who will announce the registration model at the event.
The Business Establishment licence will be offered only during the festival period. Eligible companies can apply if they fall under one of the six designated sectors. The move is expected to attract more start-ups to Sharjah's growing business landscape.
