Sberbank and Kamchatka Partner to Transform the Russian Far East
A new cooperation agreement has been signed between Sberbank and the government of Kamchatka Territory. The deal was finalised at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Its aim is to boost strategic growth in the Russian Far East and improve local communities. The agreement was officially signed by Herman Gref, President and Chairman of Sberbank, and Vladimir Solodov, Governor of Kamchatka Territory. One of its main goals is to transform cities and towns across the region into more attractive, investor-friendly, and tourist-appealing spaces.
Comprehensive development plans will be created for key settlements, focusing on better infrastructure and quality of life. Another major focus is education, with the launch of **School 21** in Kamchatka Territory as a flagship project. This initiative will train highly skilled digital engineers to support the region’s technological and economic progress. The partnership also seeks to align government and business efforts more effectively. New projects will be introduced to revitalise urban areas, modernise public spaces, and create long-term opportunities for residents.
The collaboration between Sberbank and Kamchatka Territory targets both economic and social improvements. Urban development and digital education will be central to the region’s growth. The agreement marks a structured effort to enhance living standards and attract investment to the Far East.
