Russia expands Primorsky trade hub to boost China-bound logistics

The Russian government has expanded the Mikhailovsky Advanced Development Territory (ADT) in Primorsky Krai to make room for two new customs and logistics terminals. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree adding 62.2 hectares of land to the zone. The move aims to boost trade, particularly with China, through improved infrastructure.

The expansion will support the construction of the Sungach automobile terminal and the Green Hub railway terminal. Both projects are designed to streamline trade flows, especially towards China. Private investors are expected to contribute around 2 billion rubles to the developments.

The Sungach terminal will include a temporary storage warehouse and a permanent customs control zone. It will also feature veterinary and phytosanitary inspection points, along with a motel and parking for transport vehicles. Meanwhile, the Green Hub terminal will offer a universal loading and unloading area, an LPG filling station, and a container terminal with customs oversight. Investors signing agreements with the Far East Development Corporation (FEDC) will gain resident status within the ADT. This status comes with state support, including tax breaks and simplified administrative procedures. The projects are projected to create 189 new jobs in the region. Far Eastern Technologies LLC, led by CEO Oleg Makarov and co-owner Andrey Medvedev, is involved in the developments. Makarov is also a co-owner of Green Land LLC, a company focused on growing annual crops.

The expansion of the Mikhailovsky ADT will enhance logistics capacity in Primorsky Krai. With new terminals set to facilitate China-bound trade, the region anticipates economic growth through increased investment and employment. The government’s support measures aim to attract further private sector participation in the coming years.
