Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin gains compliance approval but faces adoption hurdles

Ripple's stablecoin, RLUSD, has received a compliance boost after a February 2026 attestation report confirmed its full backing by reserves. The report, verified by Deloitte, shows the coin remains overcollateralised and aligned with New York financial regulations. Despite this, trading volumes have dropped to $1.43 billion, sparking discussion about its market adoption. The attestation report, covering February 2026, revealed that RLUSD's reserves held a market value of $1.57 billion against 1.495 billion units in circulation. Deloitte confirmed the stablecoin is fully backed by highly liquid and secure assets. Ripple has also stressed that its proprietary funds remain entirely separate from the reserves supporting RLUSD.

Ripple's push for compliance has led to new partnerships, including integrations with Baco Genial, Nomad, and Attrus. The stablecoin is now listed on major platforms such as iTrustCapital, HashKey Exchange, Ripio, and Bitkub. Standard Custody CEO Jack McDonald noted RLUSD's growing role in global financial infrastructure. However, since the Deloitte report's release, no additional major crypto exchanges or financial platforms have adopted RLUSD as a stablecoin option by March 30, 2026.

RLUSD's attestation confirms its regulatory compliance and reserve strength. Yet, with trading volumes declining and no new exchange listings since February, its market position remains uncertain. The stablecoin's future adoption will likely depend on broader industry confidence and usage trends.
