PXN Ventures backs 13 DeepTech and life sciences startups in new PraeSeed cohort

PXN Ventures has revealed the third group of start-ups joining its PraeSeed investor readiness programme. Thirteen companies will take part, with the six-week scheme starting on 8th June. The initiative is supported by the British Business Bank’s Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II). This year’s cohort is dominated by DeepTech and life sciences firms. Among them are Ardhann, CASA Space Tech, Lutèo Medical, Sheba, Antigonie Biosciences, and Chronotaxia.

Over three-quarters of the selected companies have founders from diverse backgrounds. More than half also include at least one female founder. Up to eight of the start-ups will secure a £200,000 equity investment from NPIF II - PXN Equity Finance. The programme aims to prepare early-stage businesses for further funding and growth.

The six-week PraeSeed programme will run until late July. Participating companies will receive mentoring, funding opportunities, and investor connections. The initiative continues to focus on supporting underrepresented founders in the tech and life sciences sectors.
