Pipeline's 2026 Pathfinders Cohort Spotlights Rural Entrepreneurs with Proven Business Models
Pipeline has unveiled its 2026 Pathfinders cohort, welcoming 14 new founders from across the Midwest. The group represents a diverse mix of entrepreneurs, including many from rural areas often overlooked in traditional accelerator programmes. This year's selection highlights the programme's shift toward supporting founders with proven business models and early revenue.
The new cohort brings together founders from Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, working in fields like agriculture, education, and the arts. Unlike typical accelerator participants, many come from small towns and rural communities, where access to resources and networks is limited. The Patterson Family Foundation backs Pipeline's mission to reach these underrepresented innovators, who often tackle real-world challenges in sectors such as healthcare, energy, and farming.
Pipeline's three-year track record shows that rural founders can build scalable, impactful businesses with the right support. This year's group stands out for having validated concepts and early revenue—a sign the programme has evolved into a launchpad for traction-stage companies. Founders in the cohort have praised the structured curriculum, peer collaboration, and guidance on growth strategy, financial planning, and aligning business goals with personal values.
The programme's schedule is already underway, with orientation sessions starting in January. The first formal module begins in late February, leading up to the Innovators Daytime Showcase and Gala on June 5. Pipeline's CEO, Melissa Vincent, noted that connecting these founders to the organisation's networks strengthens the entire Midwest ecosystem by fostering collaboration and shared growth.
The 2026 Pathfinders cohort marks another step in Pipeline's effort to support founders who face systemic barriers. With a focus on practical challenges and scalable solutions, the programme continues to prove that rural and small-town entrepreneurs can drive regional economic impact. The upcoming showcase in June will highlight their progress and potential.
