Next-Gen Battery Tech Cuts Costs and Boosts Efficiency by 35%

LEAD Intelligent Equipment has supplied advanced battery production systems to global manufacturers. The latest deliveries include machines for dry electrode coating, lamination, and high-speed stacking. These systems are designed to improve efficiency and cut costs in battery production lines.

The newly delivered equipment supports both all-solid-state and liquid electrolyte battery lines. This flexibility helps manufacturers transition between technologies while maximising the use of existing machinery. Field tests confirm the systems reduce energy consumption by over 35 percent and lower material plus production costs by more than 15 percent.

The machines operate at speeds up to 100 metres per minute. They can process electrode sheets as wide as 1,000 millimetres and as thin as 40 microns, handling between two and six sheets at once. Production capacity for a single line ranges from 5 to 8 GWh, depending on configuration.

Recent shipments include systems for dry electrode mixing, coating, decaling, and electrode framing. Automotive firms and battery producers have received these units, though exact numbers for deliveries outside China remain undisclosed.

The new systems aim to streamline battery manufacturing with faster speeds and lower operational costs. Their adaptability to different battery types provides manufacturers with greater production flexibility. Energy savings and reduced material waste are among the key benefits reported so far.
