Megha Tolia Takes Charge as Global Ambassador for SMU's Spears Institute

Megha Tolia has been named the global ambassador of the Spears Institute at Southern Methodist University (SMU). The appointment takes effect immediately and builds on her existing role as a co-founding director. Her new position aims to expand the Institute's global influence and support its mission of fostering entrepreneurial leadership.

The Spears Institute, established in 2022, connects SMU students, alumni, and the North Texas business community with essential resources. These include mentorship programs, networking opportunities, and tools to turn ideas into real-world impact. Over the past year, the Institute has grown through initiatives like the LAUNCH Accelerator and the Hilltop Founders Pitch Competition.

Megha Tolia will focus on strengthening global partnerships and enhancing mentorship opportunities. Her responsibilities also involve raising SMU's profile within the worldwide entrepreneurial ecosystem. She brings extensive experience in brand leadership, creative strategy, and business innovation to the role.

Todd Milbourn, Dean of SMU's Cox School of Business, highlighted Tolia's leadership and entrepreneurial mindset as key assets. Alongside her husband, Nirav Tolia, she has been instrumental in shaping the Institute's vision since its founding. Both will continue their roles as co-founding directors while Megha takes on her new ambassadorial duties.
