Luna Calzados expands from three shops to 25 with global ambitions
Luna Calzados, a family-run footwear retailer, has grown steadily over the past three decades. Founded in Mazarrón, Spain, the company now operates 25 stores across Murcia, Almería, and Alicante. Under CEO Cristian Collado, it has also expanded its online reach and international distribution.
The business began 30 years ago as a small multi-brand women's shoe shop. It has since expanded from three stores to 25 physical locations. Alongside its brick-and-mortar growth, the company boosted its digital presence in 2022, launching on six external e-commerce platforms while maintaining its own online store.
In 2019, Luna Calzados introduced two in-house brands: Etika Urban Shoes and Armony. These labels now reach 1,500 sales points across Europe. By March 2026, Etika Urban Shoes had entered 12 international markets, including Germany, France, Mexico, and the USA. The company's expansion strategy includes partnerships with local distributors, trade fair participation, and targeted digital marketing. Revenue has climbed consistently under Collado's leadership, with a 20% increase in 2025, reaching €19 million. The workforce varies between 150 and 200 employees, depending on seasonal demand. To support further growth, the company plans to expand its Mazarrón-based headquarters and logistics warehouse within five years. The Morales family's second generation—Raúl, Belén, and Silvia—still owns and manages the business. Their focus includes making footwear more affordable by reducing the average price by around 50 cents.
Luna Calzados continues to strengthen its position in both domestic and international markets. With plans to consolidate revenue growth in 2026 and expand its facilities, the company aims to build on its recent success. The combination of digital expansion, in-house brands, and strategic partnerships remains central to its approach.
