Knorr-Bremse posts strongest Q1 results in five years despite economic challenges

Knorr-Bremse has reported its strongest first-quarter performance in five years. Despite a difficult economic climate, the company saw steady revenue and improved profitability in early 2024. Revenue for the first three months remained stable at €1.94 billion. Both the rail and commercial vehicle divisions contributed to this figure.

Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) climbed by nearly 11 percent compared to last year. The total reached €261 million, reflecting stronger operational efficiency. The operating margin also grew by 1.4 percentage points, hitting 13.5 percent. Net profit followed the upward trend, rising to €160 million. This marked an increase from €143 million in the same period of 2023.

The results highlight Knorr-Bremse’s resilience in a tough market. With higher margins and profits, the company has set a positive tone for the rest of the year. Analysts will now watch for sustained growth in the coming quarters.
