Kenya's Silicon Savannah rises with new tech hub in Konza City

Kenya's push to become Africa's top technology hub is gaining momentum with the construction of the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) Complex. Located in Konza City, near Machakos, the project aligns with the broader vision of the Konza Technopolis—a planned innovation centre often called Kenya's Silicon Savannah.

The ACTS Complex will provide advanced facilities for research, experimentation, and scaling up new technologies. Its goal is to bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers under one roof. Once fully operational, the centre will focus on cutting-edge development in science and technology.

Phase One of the project is set to finish in 45 weeks. This milestone will mark the official launch of the centre and signal a major step forward in its development.

Konza Technopolis is part of a wider trend across Africa. Similar tech and innovation hubs include the Eko Atlantic City Innovation District in Lagos, Nigeria, and Hope City in Accra, Ghana. These projects reflect growing efforts to position the continent as a leader in technological advancement.

The ACTS Complex will strengthen Kenya's role as a key player in Africa's tech sector. With its modern infrastructure and collaborative approach, the centre aims to accelerate innovation and research. The completion of Phase One will bring the project closer to realising its full potential.
