Kazakhstan Now Lets Businesses Register Custom License Plates Online
Kazakhstan has expanded its online vehicle registration services to include businesses. The updated system now lets companies reserve and select custom license plates through the eGov.kz platform. This marks the first time legal entities can access the service, which was previously limited to individuals only. Businesses can now browse, choose, and reserve their preferred plate numbers via the eGov.kz website. The system shows available combinations and displays the cost in both monthly calculation indices (MCI) and tenge.
To complete the process, users must pick their region, select a Public Service Center (PSC) for plate collection, and choose the plate type. A valid digital signature authorised for e-signatures is required to finalise the application. Processing times differ by location: Astana and Almaty take five business days, while other regions, including Shymkent, require up to 15 business days. Once ready, the plates must be collected in person at the chosen PSC after the vehicle’s state registration is complete. Looking ahead, Kazakhstan plans to introduce additional plate categories in 2026. These will include 'custom' and 'mirrored' designs, offering more personalisation options. The service will also soon appear on the main page of the eGov Business mobile app for easier access.
The new online system simplifies license plate registration for businesses across Kazakhstan. Companies can now reserve plates digitally, reducing paperwork and in-person visits. The expansion of custom plate options in 2026 will provide even more flexibility for vehicle owners.
