Joshua Kimmich backs Munich startup revolutionizing dairy alternatives with plant-based innovation
FC Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has backed Precision Labs, a Munich-based startup specialising in dairy alternatives. The company blends milk protein with plant-based ingredients to create its products. His investment follows a €4 million seed funding round that also attracted other footballers and venture capital firms.
Precision Labs was founded by serial entrepreneurs Fabio Labriola, Philipp von Plato, and Malte Zeeck. Their focus is on producing dairy alternatives that combine traditional milk protein with plant-based components. The fresh funding will support expansion into Germany and Austria, along with research, product development, and brand growth.
Kimmich’s investment aligns with his interest in mindful living and peak performance. Beyond Precision, he has also backed Eye-Able, a startup promoting digital accessibility, and Padel City, which focuses on the fast-growing sport of padel. Fellow Bayern players İlkay Gündoğan and Serge Gnabry have also joined as investors in Precision Labs.
The €4 million funding round will help Precision Labs grow its market presence and refine its products. Kimmich’s involvement adds to a trend of athletes investing in health, sustainability, and technology-driven startups. The company now plans to accelerate its rollout across German-speaking regions.
