Job searches surge in early 2026 as insulation workers lead demand

Job search activity has risen sharply in early 2026, with platforms reporting a 23% increase in user engagement compared to last year. The trend shows clear patterns in timing, demographics, and industries—particularly among insulation workers and men aged 35 to 44. The first three months of 2026 saw a significant jump in job searches. Traffic on employment sites climbed by nearly a quarter, outpacing the same period in 2025. Historically, the busiest months for job hunting remain September and October, when activity spikes by a third above the monthly average. December and January, by contrast, stay quiet, with fewer people exploring new roles.

Men dominate the job market in terms of mobility. They are 63% more likely than women to pursue career changes, whether switching employers, seeking extra income, or looking for different positions. The most active group is men aged 35 to 44, who make up 43% of all candidates. Their average salary expectations stand at 73,111 rubles per month. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the peak days for job searches. Another notable shift comes from students and schoolchildren still in education, whose activity on job platforms grew by 27% over the past six months. One sector stands out in particular: insulation work. Between February and March 2026, job seeker engagement in this field surged by 138%. At the same time, vacancies for insulation workers jumped by 168%. The average expected salary for these roles now reaches 141,726 rubles per month.

The data highlights a dynamic job market in early 2026, driven by specific demographics and industries. With insulation workers seeing the sharpest rise in both demand and interest, and mid-career men leading the search for new opportunities, employers may need to adjust recruitment strategies to match these trends. The seasonal patterns also suggest that autumn remains the busiest period for hiring activity.
