IONOS bets big on AI tools and €60M share buyback to fuel growth

IONOS has unveiled a major AI push alongside a new €60 million share buyback plan. The company is rolling out tools like an AI phone assistant, a CRM system, and automated content creation—all powered by a centralised knowledge hub. Share prices climbed by nearly 1.8% after the announcement. The AI initiative taps into IONOS's existing customer data to create a unified knowledge base. This will support new services, including an AI-driven phone assistant, a smart CRM platform, and automated content generation. The goal is to streamline operations for small and medium businesses already using IONOS for hosting, websites, and security.

The company has also launched a share repurchase programme worth up to €60 million. Starting in the coming days, it will buy back around 2.2 million shares—about 1.6% of its total capital—by August 25, 2026. These shares will cover obligations from employee stock plans. IONOS has previously repurchased 4.35 million shares under earlier authorisations.

Financially, IONOS is targeting 7% revenue growth this year, with an EBITDA margin of 37–38%. Over the medium term, it aims for 10% annual revenue increases and a 40% EBITDA margin. The strategy includes expanding bundled services to compete with traditional providers on price and convenience. The AI tools and share buyback signal IONOS's push for growth and efficiency. The company's focus remains on small and medium enterprises, with plans to strengthen its market position through integrated hosting and AI solutions. Investors reacted positively, lifting the share price by 1.8% after the news broke.
