Indian American Leader Sunny Reddy Joins Wayne State's Engineering Hall of Fame

Sunny Reddy, an Indian American entrepreneur and education advocate, has been inducted into Wayne State University’s School of Engineering 2026 Hall of Fame. The honour recognises his contributions to both the engineering profession and the university’s mission of accessible, high-quality education. Reddy earned a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State. Beyond his academic background, he founded VoIP Office, a Michigan-based technology firm with worldwide operations. His leadership extends to community and educational roles, including serving as a board member for the American Telugu Association, where he supports initiatives for diverse groups.

In 2024, he was elected to Wayne State’s Board of Governors. There, he champions affordable education, unbiased learning environments, and excellence in student life. Reddy also prioritises alumni engagement, believing mentorship and career guidance are vital for current students. His philanthropic efforts include fundraising with the American Red Cross. He helped secure critical relief funds during major disasters, such as Hurricane Harvey in 2017, the 2021 Kentucky tornadoes, and the 2024 Florida hurricanes. Colleagues describe him as a dedicated leader, deeply committed to advancing education and building resilient communities.
